PRIVACY POLICY

Website User Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to any website owned or developed by the American Federation for Children (AFC) and its affiliates, including any interactive features, communications, or services provided by AFC, however used or accessed, that are made available, operated, maintained or produced by AFC.

AFC is committed to respecting the privacy of our visitors. AFC has established this policy to inform you of the kinds of personal information we may gather in your visit to our websites.  You can visit most portions of our websites without letting us know who you are or revealing any personal information.

Personal Information
Your personal information is collected on a voluntary basis when you complete the “Contact Us” form, sign up for the newsletter, fill out a “Take Action” form or contribute through the donation form. You may be asked for, as appropriate, your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and credit card information. You can refuse to supply personal identification information, though it may prevent you from participating in certain activities on the website.

Our website is not intended for use by children under age 13.  AFC does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under age 13. If AFC discovers that a child under the age of 13 has provided AFC with personally identifiable information, AFC will immediately delete that child’s information from our websites.

Social Media
When you interact with any AFC website or account on a social media platform, such as Facebook, we may collect personal information that you make available to us on that page or account including your account ID.  However, we will comply with the privacy policies of the corresponding social media platform and we will only collect and store such personal information that we are permitted to collect by these social media platforms.

Donor Privacy Policy
AFC respects the privacy of our donors and their choice not to have personal information shared with others. We do not and will not sell, rent, or trade donor information (collected online or offline) to organizations that use such information for commercial purposes. Occasionally we may make donor mailing lists available for one time use by selected nonprofits in return for donor lists from those organizations. This helps AFC continue to grow. Our donors may instruct that we exclude their information from any lists that we share. All such requests — directed to Amy Echols, aechols@federationforchildren.org or via mail to 10440 Little Patuxent Pkwy, Suite 300-343, Columbia, MD 21044 — will be implemented as soon as possible.

Credit Card Transactions
Contributions on the website via credit card are secured by an SSL certificate. Credit card information is not stored on the AFC website, nor will it be disclosed to third parties except to the extent necessary to complete a transaction initiated through our secure online contribution form.

Google Analytics
Our websites use a tool called Google Analytics to collect information about use of this site.  Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit our sites, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to the site. We use information from Google Analytics to improve our websites.  More about how Google uses information from sites that use their services is available here: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Websites owned or developed by AFC may contain links to other websites operated by third parties.  Please be advised that the practices described in our policy do not apply to information gathered through those other websites.  AFC is not responsible for the privacy policies or actions of third parties or other websites.
